Orchestrate
Overview of the Orchestrate community
The Orchestrate community explores how circular ecosystems are emerging to address the linear take make waste model by interorganizational relationships and new business models in different parts of the world. By mapping relationships between businesses, policymakers, researchers, and grassroots initiatives, the project examines how collaboration supports the transition from linear to circular systems.
Using a mixed-methods approach, Orchestrate identifies key ecosystem roles, coordination challenges, and opportunities for innovation. The community aims to combine research, industry engagement, and practical experimentation to better understand how circular systems function in real-world contexts.
Through this work, Orchestrate develops evidence-based insights and practical tools to help stakeholders strengthen partnerships and build more effective, coordinated circular ecosystems.
What is circular fashion?
Circular fashion moves beyond the traditional take-make-waste model. It prioritises longevity, repair, reuse, recycling, and regeneration — turning waste into a resource and fostering collaboration across sectors.
Orchestrate funding
The Orchestrate research community has been funded by multiple sources supporting research, capacity building, and industry engagement in circular fashion and textiles, focusing on ecosystem mapping and supporting transitions of the sector in different contexts.
Tools
We are developing practical, practitioner-focused toolkits designed to support the orchestration of circular ecosystems, foster sustainable solutions through partnerships, and empower diverse actors to reflect on and strengthen their roles within emerging circular ecosystems.
